Jens Ludwig is the Edwin A. and Betty L. Bergman Distinguished Service Professor, director of the University of Chicago’s Crime Lab, codirector of the Education Lab, and codirector of the National Bureau of Economic Research’s working group on the economics of crime.
Justin Marlowe is a Research Professor in the University of Chicago, Harris School of Public Policy. His research and teaching are focused on public finance, with emphasis on public capital markets, infrastructure finance, state and local budgeting, and financial disclosure.
This event will feature a panel discussion with Christopher Berry, Professor and Academic Director of the Harris School's Center for Municipal Finance, and Justin Marlowe, Research Professor and the Center's Associate Director. They will present findings from their research on how Chicago and many other localities incorporate sustainability and equity into crucial decisions about collecting taxes, spending money, and planning for their financial futures.
Our first event featured alumni from across our programs at Harris discussing their work with various centers including: The Center for Municipal Finance, The Inclusive Economy Lab, The Community Programs Accelerator with the Office Of Civic Engagement.
