Steps to Enroll Part I

1. Accept the Offer

To secure your spot in the program, start by officially accepting your offer of admission. Click on the link provided in the electronic admission letter from harriscredential@uchicago.edu to access the Admission Reply Form. Complete the one-question form by the deadline specified in your admission letter. Failure to reply and submit the deposit by the deadline will be considered voluntarily giving up your seat.

2. Submit Your Enrollment Deposit

After accepting the electronic admission letter, you will submit a $1000 USD enrollment deposit to confirm your attendance. The deadline to submit the deposit is listed in your admission letter. The enrollment deposit will be applied to your total program cost and is reflected in the final bill. Payment is accepted by credit card in your application portal.

The deposit is required and is non-refundable. Students who fail to submit the deposit in time are viewed as voluntarily giving up their seats to attend the program.

If you have a third-party sponsor paying the program fee, then contact our office before the program begins or before the bill due date.

3. Pay the Program Fee

You will receive an email from our team with a deadline as to when to pay the program fee. Submitting payment for the remaining balance is the same process as paying the enrollment deposit.

Steps to Enroll Part II

1. Complete the Admitted Student Survey

To ensure the smooth organization of the program and provide you with the best experience, we kindly request that you complete the Admitted Student Survey as soon as possible. This survey is mandatory for all enrolling students of the 2025 PKU-UChicago Summer School.

To access the survey, please log into your application portal, where you will find the necessary instructions.

2. Register for On-campus Accommodation

If you are interested in on-campus accommodation during the program, we invite you to apply for the PKU Global Village or the PKU Wanliu Apartment Center. More information about those two options can be found on the program webpage.

You will receive the registration link by email within one day after you confirm your enrollment.

Please note that accommodation is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. We will notify you as soon as the accommodation has been confirmed.

3. Join the Admitted Participants WeChat Group

This group facilitates direct communication between incoming participants and the credential program admissions team. News updates and event information will be provided to help you stay tuned and further connect with Harris!

You will receive the group QR code by email after getting admitted by the 2025 PKU-UChicago Summer School.

This group will be primarily conducted in Chinese. If you would like to connect in English, please feel free to reach out to Lingyang Zhang at lingyang@uchicago.edu.

4. Plan your trip to Beijing

Non-Chinese participants may require a visa to enter China. Peking University will issue an invitation letter for you to apply for the visa after we have collected the essential information from your Admitted Student Survey.

5. Join the Platform - Canvas

Your email address will be invited to Canvas, a web-based learning management system, two weeks before the program starts. It is on Canvas that you will access academic materials and the full schedule of lectures and office hours.

6. Program Registration

Program registration occurs one day before the program starts. You will need to bring your passport/Chinese ID card for registration. During registration, you will receive a welcome package and your PKU student ID card.

Please enter the PKU campus through the southeast gate on the registration day. If you encounter any problems when entering campus, please contact a PKU staff/program assistant immediately.

Registration Times:

IPAL: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Sunday, July 6th, 2025

MPIF: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Sunday, July 13th, 2025

EEPL: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Sunday, July 27th, 2025

Registration Venue: Lobby, New Sun Student Center, PKU

Information about check-in for on-campus accommodation will be provided by email separately.

7. Open Ceremony and Orientation

The open ceremony and orientation session occurs on July 6th, one day before the 2025 PKU-UChicago Summer School begins. During this session, you will have the opportunity to connect with your teaching team, administrative staff, and fellow participants, and gain a better sense of what you will experience in the forthcoming 2-3 weeks and how you can leverage your PKU and UChicago resources.

IPAL students are required to join the session in person at PKU. MPIF and EEPL students can choose to join either in person or online.

After this session, an in-person campus tour will be provided to help Summer School participants get familiar with the PKU campus.
