Congratulations on your admission into the Policy Research and Innovation Bootcamp (PRIB)! This webpage will not only guide and prepare you for the upcoming program but also invites you to connect with the dynamic UChicago community before your program begins. Get ready to embark on an exciting in-person two-week study journey!
To secure your spot in the program, start by officially accepting your offer of admission. Click on the link provided in the electronic admission letter from harriscredential@uchicago.edu to access the Admission Reply Form. Complete the one-question form by the deadline specified in your admission letter. Failure to reply and submit the deposit by the deadline will be considered voluntarily giving up your seat.
When you accept the electronic admission letter, you will submit a $1,000 USD enrollment deposit to confirm your attendance. The deadline to submit the deposit is listed in your admission letter and on the PRIB Fee webpage. The enrollment deposit will be applied to your total program cost and is reflected in the final bill. Payment is accepted by credit-card in your application portal.
The deposit is required and is non-refundable. Students who fail to submit the deposit in time are viewed as voluntarily giving up their seat to attend the program.
You will receive an email from our team with a deadline as to when to pay the program fee. Submitting payment for the remaining balance is the same process as paying the enrollment deposit.
Admitted PRIB participants can apply for on-campus accommodation at the Renee Granville-Grossman Residential Commons (6031 S Ellis Ave Chicago, IL 60637) for the duration of the program. Please note the housing fee is not included in the program fee. Vacancy is limited and on first-apply first served basis.
Renee Granville-Grossman Residential Commons opened in the Autumn 2009 and features modern design while maintaining the traditional focus of the Houses. The Hall houses eight vibrant communities around two courtyards, defining two distinct residence hall communities (East and West), each with their own complement of Resident Heads and Resident Assistants, charged with community building.
International participants may require a visa to enter the U.S. This program is not eligible to sponsor F-1 or J-1 student visas. Harris will issue a support letter for you to apply for the B1 visa to enter the U.S. as needed. Please email harriscredential@uchicago.edu for further assistance.
To learn more visit: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas.html or contact your nearest U.S. consulate or embassy. International participants already in the U.S. on a visa may want to consult with the sponsor of their visa to determine if their visa status permits participation.
Your email address will be invited to these platforms two weeks before the program start date. It is in Canvas that you will access academic materials, and the full schedule of synchronous office hours and lectures.
Orientation occurs one week before the program begins. During the orientation, you will have the opportunity to connect with your teaching team, administrative staff, and fellow participants, and gain a better sense of what you will experience in the forthcoming 2-3 weeks and how you can leverage your UChicago and PRIB resources.
